The Washtenaw County Food Policy Council is current recruiting for positions on the full council as well as on our policy action teams (PATs). We are looking for members to represent the following food system sectors of our community:
- Food Service
- Health Care
- At-Large Member
- Zoning/Planning Action Team
- Food Access Action Team
- Waste Action Team
- Farming Action Team
It is not necessary to be employed in the sector to represent it but some prior experience is helpful.
Those interested in serving on the full council or on a policy action team, can fill out our online application below by April 15.
The Washtenaw Food Policy Council meets 6 – 8 times per year on the first Wednesday of the month from 3 – 5 pm. Meeting times/location for the Policy Action Teams vary and are posted on the food policy council website.
The purpose of the council is to make policy recommendations based on research and analysis of the local food system. We also seek to strengthen local connections and educate the community on food related issues. Policy Action Teams focus on identifying and recommending policy action and related programming in their area of interest to the full council and community partners.
Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you soon!
