Growing Cities Film Screening

Growing Cities Film Screening

The WFPC, along with Whole Foods Market, is hosting a screening of the film  Growing Cities

When: Tuesday, October 14th at 7PM

Where: Riverside Arts Center, 76 N. Huron Street, Ypsilanti, MI 48197.

Cost: FREE!

The film explores urban farming and how city dwellers across our nation are reimagining the food system. The movie follows two friends on their road trip across country as they meet the people who are challenging the way this country grows and distributes food – from those growing food in back yards to make ends meet, to educators who are teaching children to eat better, to activists seeking a meaningful alternative to the industrial food system, and more.

By showcasing innovative ways urban dwellers are producing food, the film inspires people to engage more deeply with their food system, whether that means growing tomatoes on a windowsill, or getting a flock of back yard chickens. At its core the film asks viewers to reimagine what’s possible in urban settings and show how everyone can be a producer in a consumption driven society.
